Our services are designed to give our clients the opportunity to interact and have fun with others whilst participating in our daily activities.

We offer FREE trial days for new clients, that opportunity is for the new client to become familiar with the program, the staff and environment. It also gives the staff an opportunity to ask families (whanau) a lot of questions about their loved ones.

Card and quizzes game

This exercise  is a good way to help participants develop more empathy, consider other perspectives, build their communication and negotiation skills.

Listen to Music and Sing Along

The use of music therapy for people with learning disabilities has many benefits, and can help to improve communication, interaction and self-expression. Music therapy can also help to empower people by offering them choices, increase motivation, and encourage physical activity and coordination.

Baking classes

Being different can bring along situations and opportunities which would not be experienced in day-to-day routine lives. It also gives the person an opportunity to shine and use his/her difference to raise awareness and pass on important messages to others. You can’t judge a person by their looks.

Walking

To promote their personal empowerment. Not only are you helping them build the tools to be more independent, but you’re also improving their self-esteem and confidence.

A Quiet day - Watching a Movie

A quiet day for clients can involve activities that promote relaxation, reflection, and personal enjoyment, such as reading , Listening to music, Gentle exercises or stretching, Meditation or mindfulness practice etc. Engaging in creative pursuits can be therapeutic and offer a sense of accomplishment.

Outing - A Van Trip

This encourages our clients to enjoy the outdoors by taking leisurely walks in parks or nature trails. It provides an opportunity for gentle exercise and relaxation.

Feild Trips

Designed to build resilience and support reintegration into mainstream society.

Arts and Crafts

This exercise helps improve fine motor skills, better psychological resilience and coping skills, improved memory, calmer emotions, a positive outlook and improved cognition.

Dolls as Therapy Visits

The use of life-like dolls can bring great benefits to some people with a diagnosis of dementia, particularly those in later stages. Giving life-like dolls with dementia is considered by some as a type of therapy; it has therapeutic benefits such as relaxation and pleasure and is not merely ‘playing’ with a toy.

Tai Chi

Is associated with a reduction in blood pressure, anxiety, mood swings, and depression. Tai Chi opens up the flow of energy to all parts of the body and is associated with a slowing down of heart rate, decrease in frequency of respiration, and marked reduction of oxygen consumption.

Celebrations of Cultural Days

Obviously, everybody has their own experiences but this type of celebration enables them to have a sense of community and to assert their rightful place in society

Seated Exercises

The exercises also help with posture and straight alignment of the spine. Increased circulation. This also means a faster healing of injuries and wounds, faster sickness recovery time, greater lung capacity and much easier mobility. Reduced risk of falls because chair based exercises improve posture and balance

Computers

Hardware and software tools–known as assistive technology– can aid in tasks such as reading and writing documents, communicating with others, and searching for information online.

Our rehabilitation specialist staff members have all knowledge, expertise and experience within the Health and Disability sector. Have been training for working with clients with disabilities( NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 2,3 and 4). New Zealand nurse practitioner (Mātanga Tapuhi). And a valid NZ first aid certificate. Spark of life international dementia certificate. Dementia friend NZ certificate (Nga Pou Whirinaki Mate Wareware).

All our staff members are patient and have highly-developed, flexible communication skills. Self-awareness. To be assertive to ensure people with a learning disability do not suffer discrimination. A core skill sensitive human interaction.

Our service runs for 48 weeks per year (excludes public holidays, staff training days and Christmas holidays).

Clients aged from 18-55 years. 

We offer FREE trial days for new clients, that opportunity is for the new client to become familiar with the programme, the staff and environment. It also gives the staff an opportunity to ask families (whanau) a lot of questions about their loved ones.

Our services and programmes funding may be available from New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme (ACC) and Ministry of Social Development (MSD) or through private payment.

Our facility accommodates all our clients requirements including wheelchair access, To aid/ease their daily life task.

Days

Our programs run from Monday to Friday.
